My Order Has More Than 100 Line Items. How Can I Import It?

If you get an error that says Shopify does not allow orders that have more than 100 line items, this means you have tried to import an order with more than 100 line items. At this time the Shopify API is not able to import orders with more than 100 line items.

Order Has More Than 100 Line Items Error

This may seem a little odd since the Shopify order admin allows you to create an order with more than 100 line items, but the Shopify API throws an error with orders that have line items greater than 100. Therefor, EZ Importer can not allow an order to be sent to Shopify if the order has more than 100 line items.

We've brought this up with Shopify developer support and they've recommended that we limit the number of line items to 100 to ensure the Shopify API does not error out. This is an issue that they are aware of and if it changes in the future we will update our validation rules to accommodate.

In the mean time, we recommend you break the line items into multiple orders. We realize this isn't ideal and for some of your customers this doesn't make since but this is the best work around at this time.

If you have more questions about this, please don't hesitate to reach out.
