Do you support exporting Shopify order data to EDI format?

Unfortunately, EZ Exporter doesn't support exporting data to EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) formats and it's not something we're looking to support in the future.

However, we do support plain text files in CSV format where you can specify a different character delimiter (tab, comma, semicolon, tilde, pipe, or caret).  You can also specify the file extension (e.g. using .txt instead of .csv).

If the specific EDI format you're looking for resembles a typical CSV file (tabular data), then it might work.

Here are things to note when using our app to export Shopify orders to CSV format:

  • we can only export in tabular format where you can include a single header row and the data rows below it
  • there's an option to exclude the header row from the export
  • you can add custom fields/columns (e.g. custom columns with blank/empty data, static values, or use formulas to manipulate the data automatically on export)
  • all rows have the same structure (i.e. same fields/columns per row), it's not possible to have a separate row structure for customer data and line item data per order, for example
  • you can use different delimiters
  • you can customize the filename and use date/time variables in the filename
  • quoting options
  • you can normalize/strip out non-ASCII characters per field using a formula
  • you can truncate the data to a certain number of characters for each field using a formula
  • you can configure the app to only export new orders since the last export
  • you can schedule the export to run automatically and upload the file to an FTP or SFTP server as frequently as every 15 minutes (you can also do Hourly, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly schedules)
