As your Shopify store grows, one of the things that really becomes a challenge is managing your inventory. Without proper inventory management, you could easily lose out on sales when your Shopify store shows "out of stock" for an item you actually have on hand. The opposite could also happen where you oversell an item you no longer have in stock, which could then lead to angry customers and support headaches.

Manually updating your inventory level in the Shopify Admin may be completely fine in the beginning when you only have a handful of items for sale. But as you introduce more SKUs to your store, this just becomes impractical. You'd end up wasting a lot of time and the process would be error-prone. I bet there are other things you'd rather be doing with that time.

With EZ Inventory, we aim to help solve this problem by providing a way for you to automate this process. It's very simple and easy to use: just map the fields from your supplier's feed and specify a schedule to have it run automatically. You can manually upload an inventory feed as well for one-off updates. And if you have multiple suppliers and multiple feeds, we've got you covered as well.

Below are some of the features our app currently offers, with more coming in the future as we're constantly making improvements to the app.

Multi-Location Inventory

Shopify will be introducing "multi-location inventory" to Shopify merchants this summer. They haven't given an exact date, but our guess is this will happen sometime next month.

Mutli-location support can actually already be enabled on Shopify development stores and that's how we were able to test this functionality. We've built EZ Inventory with multi-location in mind, so our app is already ready for it when the feature goes live.

When you install our app, we'll automatically pull all your Locations from your Shopify store. So when you create a Data Feed, you have the option to select which inventory location to use during the inventory updates. If you don't use multi-location, then you'll just have one option to choose from.

We also make sure your Locations are up to date in our app by syncing them hourly. So if you add new locations in the future, our app will automatically pick them up.

FTP and SFTP Support

It's quite common for suppliers to provide their data feeds via FTP or SFTP. If you have an option to choose one or the other, we recommend you go with SFTP as it's more secure since the protocol was designed with security in mind. We do have TLS support for FTP as well if your supplier requires it. For SFTP, you can authenticate using a password or an RSA private key (more secure).

Manual File Uploads

Sometimes, you may just need to do a quick one-off update of your inventory. This could come in handy in this case. Simply upload your feed and start syncing right away.

Set Up Multiple Feeds

If you have multiple suppliers, then you'd likely need to sync up your inventory from multiple feeds. This is where EZ Inventory could really deliver the value, as the app allows you to set up multiple data feeds and separate sync schedules for each.

Detailed Logs

Our app can show you exactly which items were updated and at what time. You can even download the original feed that was used to update your inventory within our app.

Inventory Update History

We provide a page for each of your product variants within our app so you can view information about it and the history of inventory updates our app has made to it in the last 30 days. This way, you don't have to leave our app to see this information. We provide a link to the Shopify Admin from this page as well in case you want to go to it directly and make some edits or view additional information.
